The largest city in Iran got hit with an estimated 25 million rats with some larger than cats, according to press reports in the United States. 
Tehran has a rodent problem, a very large problem.   
Rats not only easily outnumber the residents of the city, they are also monstrously large.   
According to press reports, theseparasites can weigh up to 11 pounds more than some regular cats. 
The city has always had a problem with rats.   
Each spring, the water from the melted snow dumped from the Alborz mountains, brings the rats out from the underground. 
Back in 2000, Iran attempted to poison the rats, make them thirsty and forcing them underground in search of water, It did not work. In any event, the rats now appear to be even stronger and larger.
