Turkish police found hundreds of guns buried underground in an
excavation carried out late Tuesday in the Burhaniye neighborhood of
Üsküdar district in Istanbul upon receiving a suspicious report.
The newly-unearthed 240 blank cartridge pistols were laid on the ground as crime-scene investigators cordoned off the area.
Security forces launched an investigation into the incident.
The street near the area was closed to traffic due to security reasons.
The motive for the incident remains unknown.
